In His Own Words

It is incredible how turning points in life act as gateways to unleashing one's potential. My life stands testament to this.

Started with:

Being a Mechanical Engineer, I commenced my career as a production engineer in a factory. Simultaneously, I operated my own small press component unit and a taxi service. During a factory lockout period, I diversified my skills by working as a CNC machine operator, CAD designer, and purchase officer, alongside my role as a production engineer.

Turning Point-1

After gaining over 5 years of experience in a factory, I transitioned to the IT industry after completing a full-time Mainframe course. As a software engineer, I held positions ranging from test manager to software delivery manager at renowned multinational companies such as HCL Perot System, Verisign, and IBM. I have travelled to the USA multiple times, Portugal, and Vietnam for onsite assignments. However, despite these accomplishments, I encountered challenges along this journey, facing brief periods of joblessness and setbacks such as missing out on promotions, primarily due to a lack of communication skills. Having studied in a Kannada medium school in rural Karnataka, I lacked good English speaking skills. These incidents ignited me to do something in the field of public speaking.

Turning Point-2

After working over 16 years in the IT industry, I resigned to pursue in public speaking and entrepreneurship. I began by advising companies, assumed a directorial role in a cooperative bank, and started teaching soft skills in government schools. However, my aspiration to become a public speaker extended beyond schools and soft skills training. Deep down, in the corner of my mind, I harboured the ambition to become an international speaker.

A few years after leaving my job to focus on public speaking, I relinquished other responsibilities. I attended a series of workshops, completed several certification courses, and joined Toastmasters to refine my public speaking skills

Today, my regret has transformed into my greatest reward. I am now an author, mind coach, and memory trainer. I have achieved the highest honour attainable by a member of Toastmasters in receiving the Distinguished Toastmasters (DTM) recognition. I have conducted sessions and workshops for audiences ranging from 5th-grade students to corporate employees, including doctors, tax practitioners, professors and parents. My work has taken me across Karnataka, and I have also had the opportunity to reach international audiences through online sessions. I am grateful and I believe that everyone can craft their lives with right motivation and support.
